Statement
Woodlands Speaks Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No. 1159638) has given notice to Doncaster Council that it will no longer manage Woodlands Community Library and Hub from the 31st October 2022.
Woodlands Speaks has managed and funded the running of the Library for the last 7 years, with over 400 residents, groups and agencies using the Library each week, along with children's events and employment support.
Since reopening after Covid-19, 6 months ago, less than 30 people have been using the Library every week, and important though they are, to continue managing the Library for so few users, is not the best use of the Charity's funds.
Woodlands Speaks is not leaving Woodlands and will continue to support the community in other ways.
From the 01st November 2022, Doncaster Council will be responsible for the Library.

Woodlands Community Library is managed and staffed by Woodlands Speaks on behalf of Doncaster Libraries.

Since 2014, Woodlands Community Library has been under the umbrella of Woodlands Speaks CIO, being managed as a community run library on behalf of Doncaster Council.
We are in a unique position of being able to provide a central location, from which we can support various projects for the local community. Woodlands Library is suitable for a variety of activities.
For example:
The Royal British Legion - LiveOn - provides advice and support to the armed forces community.
Doncaster College - Delivers various training courses on regular basis.
The Woodlands Walking Group - a local community group that meets up every week for long walks.
Woodlands Speaks is a registered charity, and is supported through Big Local and administered by the Local Trust for the Big Lottery Fund.
